Lucky Stones

Jill and Cathy had given me a friendship stone necklace just a couple months back and I wore it with pride. I wore it hiking. I wore it with my little black dress. I wore it to a Dodger's game. And when Mother's Day rolled around I passed it on.

My mom is one of my best friends - truly. And while it wasn't always this way (I was a difficult teenager!), I am happy that we have so much fun together in my adult life.

Sharing this necklace (that I had already sweated all my DNA all over, haha) felt good. As she opened up the giftwrapping, I told her that it was a good representation of her strength - that she has always been as solid as a rock - just like our friendship today.

My mom loved the necklace! She's a real earthy girl and found the craftsmanship beautiful. She put it on right then and there and wore it out that eveing to our elegant dinner at the Vessels Club at the Los Alamitos Race Track.

I think the act of giving may have even rubbed off some good karma. I won $69 on my first trifecta box!

So give!! Give, give, give! You always get back more than you give.
